One of the first resort towns to emerge as a jetsetter hotspot post-communism, Dubrovnik is still witnessing a building boom of hotel renovations and developments going into its second decade. At the center of the old city is the former-Hemingway Bar, a popular café and lounge now called Bar NoneNina. Nestled into the historic city walls under striped marquee, the indoor/outdoor lounge is popular for light lunches and late-night people watching along the main town square. Located on the marble sidewalks of the old town, oversize wicker club chair and two-person sofas occupy a prime piece of real estate with menu of over 180 different cocktails, regional wines, cognacs, whiskeys, liquors, champagnes and other alcoholic and mixed cocktails.
Tips
A small indoor café offers a wintertime sanctuary of wine bar and casual lunches, but anytime it’s sunny you’ll want to be outdoors.
Last Word
Don’t expect the ‘No Smoking’ signs here. Cigarette smoking is still fully allowed in public in Croatia, even terrace restaurants, offering a tobacco-lovers sanctuary with large choice of cigarettes and Cuban cigars.
